5K Race to Support Stacy

Hi Friends and Family of Stacy Geppert!
We are extending an invitation to join in a support event for Stacy! On Saturday, June 23rd, there is a 5K race in American Fork where hundreds of people will run in support of fighting against cancer. As this has hit close to home for all of us who know Stacy, and a lot of us would love to find a way to show our love and support for her and her own personal fight against cancer, we wanted to invite any and all who would like to come out and join us!
You may not be a runner, but because this specific race is focused on a goal much bigger than just running/walking, the goal of the race is to show support and love for a dear friend who is battling something much bigger and harder than she ever chose to take on.
This is why we wanted to join together for this 5K race specifically geared towards fighting against cancer. Even though it is a very small token of our support, by joining together in larger numbers of those who love Stacy, we believe it can be empowering to both Stacy, her family, and all of us being together.
Again this race is to be held on Saturday, June 23rd at 7am
Starting at American Fork High School
All of the information for the cause of this inspiring race can be found here: http://intermountainhealthcare.org/communitysupport/giving/uvfoundation/events/AF-half/cause/Pages/default.aspx
To register for the 5K race, which is $20 for an adult, $16 for youth (14 and younger), go here: http://intermountainhealthcare.org/communitysupport/giving/uvfoundation/events/AF-half/registration/Pages/default.aspx
There is no option for a group registration for the 5K race, and also there is no option for Day-Of registration. If you register AFTER June 2nd, prices for registration go up by about $10. So register soon if you want the discounted rate!
Spots in the 5K race may be limited (the half marathon sold out months ago), so if you are planning on signing up, please do so quickly to guarantee yourself a spot.
Team Stacy T-Shirts
The official race will provide T-shirts as part of their registration fee, however, we thought it would be really neat to have our own group T-shirts so we know who is running or even just there supporting specifically for Stacy.
We need to order these shirts BEFORE next Friday, June 1st if we will be able to get them back in time for the race. We are still working out the design for the T-shirt, but we do know that it will have a black and white photo of Stacy on there, and the color of the T-shirts will be Ocean Blue.
The price per T-shirt is $10 (This price is for T-shirts between Size XS up to XL, sizes larger than that are higher prices)
Please let me know how many shirts and what sizes you'd like BEFORE June 1st! I know that is only a week away, but the printers for these T-shirts need time to get them ordered and printed in time for the race June 23rd.
Email Angela, at: angelaliddle@gmail.com to order your T-shirt(s). Label the subject in your email: Team Stacy, and I will give details as far as how to pay for the T-shirts and where to pick them up, etc.
We really appreciate any and all who have done so many other wonderful things to love and support Stacy and her family through this challenging time. She has felt your prayers and love.
It would be wonderful to have you join in this opportunity to come and support Stacy, as well as the many other families who are fighting against cancer.

The facebook event can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/#!/events/149326475200866/
Hope to see you there!

Latest on Stacy's Cancer

Last week Stacy had a series of scans done and unfortunately there was no change in her cancer.  Her doctor has increased her chemo to 5 days at a time instead of 3.  She completed her first round of 5 days this past week.  It was very hard.  She will have her next round of chemo in a couple of weeks.  Please continue to pray for her and her family.

If you are interested in helping her I have an idea:  I would like to be able to stock her freezer with a bunch of meals for her family.  If you could make 1 freezer meal and bring it to me (Sandy Larsen) I will take it over and put it in the freezer.  Several others have already done this and it is really appreciated.   Stacy is eating a special macrbiotic diet so just plan your meal for the family.

Facebook Post from Stacy

Stacy gave me permission to post this from Facebook:

Well I guess its time. I have resisted a post on facebook, because it just doesn't seem to fit the whole FB genre. Nevertheless I am so exceedingly grateful for all the love, support and prayers that have been showered on me. Having cancer has drastically changed my life, and those who are close to me. I can feel my F...ather in Heaven's love and tender mercies and that is EVERYTHING! Thank you, thank you for every act of charity expressed, even if its just in your heart. I can feel that strength and it brings a miracle closer every day. Lots of Love to you!!

Update on Stacy's condition-January 5

For those who are just finding out about Stacy-she was diagnosed just before Christmas with small cell lung cancer.  She had her first 3 days of Chemo last Thurs, Fri, Sat.  She will be visiting with her doctor again on the 19th-right before her next round of Chemo.  So far she is grateful to not be too sick although she is very tired and weak.  She is grateful for all of the prayers and help that have been provided.

I would like to ask everyone to remember Stacy in your fast this Sunday.  Please pray for a miracle to help her fight this cancer.

If you would like to help in anyway, please let me know by leaving a comment.  I will try to get right back to you with a way that you can help.
